Open Door Community Church Leadership

Open Door Community Church is blessed to have a leadership team who is dedicated to teaching its members to have the mind of Christ to accomplish the will of God. Each of our leaders have proven themselves to be faithful in service, dedicated in prayer, and grounded in the Word of God.

Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Dr. Rick L Rogers

Senior Pastor

Pastor Rick was called to serve as the Senior Pastor of Open Door Community Church November 10, 2002. Before planting Open Door in Dillon, South Carolina, for 15 years he served as the pastor of several churches in both North and South Carolina.

Pastor Rick received his Associate in Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He graduated from The North Florida Theological Seminary in Middleburg, Florida with the following degrees: Bachelor of Theology, Master of Theology, and Doctorate of Ministry.

Pastor Rick has an anointed gift of evangelism which makes him a soul winner at heart. He has a strong expository preaching style that is a perfect fit for a church like Open Door where biblical principles are embraced and encouraged. He leads by example as he teaches the members of Open Door to take the love and grace that God has shown them and serve the needs of those around them. Pastor Rick's primary concern is to point others to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His excitement for and desire to lead others to Christ is contagious and prompts the body of believers at Open Door to take the Gospel message to the community.

Pastor Rick's commitment to worshiping God in spirit and in truth is evidenced by his personal devotion time where he spends several hours of his day focused on Bible Study and sermon preparation. He is just as quick to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in the local grocery stores and on the streets of Downtown Dillon as he is from the pulpit. Pastor Rick truly believes in the 'Open Door' ministry God has called him to and he genuinely wants everyone he meets to have the opportunity to take full advantage of that door which God has promised no one will be able to shut. He is always a phone call away when someone has a need for prayer or spiritual guidance.

Pastor Rick has been happily married since 1985 to his wife, Mary Beth Yount Rogers from Hickory, NC. Sis MB has taught for the past 30 years and is currently a Social Studies teacher at Latta High School as well as the teacher of the Open Door Adult Sunday School class. Pastor Rick and Sis MB have three children and three beautiful grandsons: Molly (33), Gray (31) and Noah (28). Gray is married to Carmen and they have three sons: Elijah, Solomon, and Jonah. Noah is married to Emily.

Pastor Rick is a hands-on, fair and just leader. His love of Christ motivates him to love and serve others and that makes it very easy for the members of ODCC to follow his example as he follows Christ's.
